Watch the wide area security surveillance on the go webinar to find out about AdvanceGuard’s new Web Interface
Our radar–based security solution, AdvanceGuard, is now accessible on mobile devices via a Web Interface. It works on any networked device with an internet connection, giving you full situational awareness wherever you are.
Questions we cover in the webinar:
Hosting the webinar are Navtech’s Dale Jones, Business Development Manager, Simonas Mikuzis, Project Delivery Manager, and Guy Avery, Head of Software
Can you still restrict user permissions on the web interface?
Yes. Each user has their own custom settings as well as permissions which are dictated by the user’s security group. The same user settings and permissions apply in both the Web Interface and the main Windows application.
How many objects can you detect and follow in the same time?
The simple answer to this is unlimited. The only limit is the processing capability of the hardware running the AdvanceGuard software. The AdvanceGuard solution is used on some of the busiest airports in the world and can detect and track many hundreds of targets across many kilometres.
How do you avoid false triggers on the site?
AdvanceGuard’s extensive, built-in features to deliver a low false alarm rate. We achieve this during data processing and with our rule engine, where the behaviour of an object is analysed. We tell customers to expect no more than one false alarm per radar per 24 hours. However, on many sites, the false alarm rate is significantly lower.
Does the Web Interface work the same on Genetec?
We are currently developing the Web Interface integration for Genetec. We support alarm and bookmarking integration right now, and we hope to have the Web Interface integrated by the Autumn.
Is it effective in application for places like industrial plant where there are tall buildings? Or, does this impact on the range of radar?
Yes, it is effective on industrial sites. The AdvanceGuard solution can secure raw material processing plants, such as aluminium and oil, as well as power stations, including nuclear sites. The radar is a ‘line of sight’ device, so cannot see through buildings. However, we have a range of different sensors, from very short range to long range. Therefore, a complex site can be covered with multiple radar. The software automatically handles target handover when moved from one radar to another.
Is the mobile system for temporary deployment?
This is a complex question, however the simple answer is yes. Certain features are limited when you need to deploy the system quickly, however radar is well adapted for mobile use. It is easy to set up, has low power requirement and is lightweight.
Any experience of operation of Avigilon IR-PTZ Camera?
We can support nearly all ONVIF Profile S compliant cameras. There are some limitations, because manufacturers do not always fully implement the ONVIF standard. Our policy is to test all cameras in our own development environment, before we add them to our list of supported devices.
Most apps are a simplified version of a product. Is this the case here?
No. Although, the Web Interface does not have the full commissioning and configuration options as the Windows User Interface, it offers the same experience to the operator as they get within the Windows application. It is intentionally designed with operators in mind.
What is the training time for operators, and is this competency based?
The system is made and then later commissioned to operate automatically, so it takes very little time to train someone to use it. The software is user-friendly and there are not a lot of actions required for operators to carry out. There is some extra time required for operators to familiarise with how a radar system works and it always helps if operators have used a security system before.
What cyber security measures are included to protect hacking into the Web Interface?
There are a number of features which actively protect the product or assist customers / installers to ensure the software is protected:
What PSIM are supported?
We currently support the Web Interface integration with Milestone and the Pelco VideoXpert. We are working on Genetec Security Center and currently have alarm and bookmark integration with Milestone, Genetec, Pelco and Bosch BVMS.
Any integrations with Avigilon VMS – ACC7?
We have been asked about Avigilon by an existing customer, however we don’t believe there is a SDK to allow us to develop the integration. Therefore, Avigilon would need to develop the integration themselves.
Can you use this as an application for pedestrian zone, to monitor for a possible terrorist attack with a car?
Yes. We carry out tests for this type of scenario. The radar is very high resolution so we can easily tell when a target moves from one zone to another, with centimetre accuracy. In addition we can reliably classify a target to identify if it is a vehicle or person and we can accurately measure speed and direction, so we can predict if a vehicle is going to enter a pedestrian zone to provide early warning. Our rule engine allows us to analyse the behaviour of all targets, and only alert when the target is doing something that should cause an alarm.
