We have harnessed the power of the latest radar technology for commercial applications, offering cost-effective solutions of the highest quality. Renowned for investing heavily in innovation, research and development, we have earned an unrivalled reputation for products that are high performance, robust and extremely reliable. Our systems are often used in mission-critical applications where safety and security are vital.

Our history

Navtech Radar was founded in 1999 by Philip Avery and Dr Stephen Clark. Avery and Clark had both been involved in millimetre wave radar and its usage in automation and robotics, dating back to 1992. In 1997, the pair joined forces, then went on to found Navtech Radar two years later to solve problems in safety, security and efficiency that no-one else could.

Navtech started in the automation sector, and helped implement the world’s first fully automated port, running 24/7, 365 days in all weather conditions, using radar technology as primary navigation.

After supporting other automation projects, it became clear the technology could be used in the field of safety and security. A whole new generation of radars powered by intelligent rules-based software were developed.

Navtech became the go to safety, security and automation solution provider for critical applications, where reliability and efficiency are vital. These include airports, highways and autonomous vehicles to mention a few.

In 2018, the company saw rapid growth and was acquired by Halma PLC, a market leader in specialist safety, health and environmental technologies.
