What is travel time data collection?

Travel time data collection is the reporting of current and historical journey times on highways and tunnels.

Without accurate travel time data, road operators are unable to effectively optimise the capacity of their network. Using current infrastructure more efficiently is imperative in high volume, high priority sections of the strategic road network to ensure a better driver experience, reduce the impact on the environment of congestion-related CO2 emissions, and avoid additional construction.
