Problems We Solve Markets Radar Solutions Projects Why Navtech? Innovation Lab Support

Welcoming Tom Davies as Navtech Radar’s New Managing Director and introducing a new Chief Technology Officer.

Navtech Radar was founded over 20 years ago by Philip Avery and Dr. Stephen Clark. Phil has led the company through a sustained period of growth, with Navtech becoming recognised as an innovative leader in its field, and with more than 5000 radar sensors deployed in the field for applications spanning security, intelligent transport systems, and industrial automation.

As the company continues to scale, we recognise the need to evolve our leadership structure to ensure we continue to build the product solutions, talent, and operational infrastructure to serve our growing customer base, and we are therefore pleased to announce the following leadership changes at Navtech, and as a result of carefully considered succession planning.

  • Phil Avery, previously Managing Director of Navtech Radar, to move to the newly created role of Chief Technology Officer
  • Tom Davies, appointed Managing Director of Navtech Radar

These changes are effective with immediate effect.

As a technology leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance safety solutions for intelligent transport systems, security and industrial automation applications, it is critical that Navtech continues to develop new and innovative solutions that address customer needs across the sectors it serves, while also identifying new opportunities for its sensing technology.

To lead this effort, Phil Avery moves into the newly created role of Chief Technology Officer, responsible for all innovation and technical efforts. Phil is the co-founder and as the former Managing Director of Navtech led the company from inception and through a significant period of growth.

Tom Davies joins Navtech as Managing Director. Tom was previously the Managing Director at Minicam Group, a Halma Plc portfolio company, having succeeded the founder MD in 2020, leading Minicam through a period of high organic growth, and expanding into new geographies through bolt-on acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Tom has served as a Non-Executive Director of Navtech since 2022 as part of a carefully considered transition and succession plan.
