THE POSITION – Technical Project Manager

Navtech Radar is looking for a talented and experienced Technical Project Manager to support the company through ongoing growth.

In this role you will be working closely with the engineering team, analysing, planning, and applying delivery processes/standards for scheduled projects.

OUR WORK HEADQUARTERS

Our offices are nestled in the picturesque village of Ardington, South Oxfordshire, within an easy commute from areas of Reading, Swindon, Newbury, and Oxford.

The role will be based at our offices in Ardington, but you should expect some overseas travel for in person project meetings with customers and potential customers. You may also be required to work out of hours and weekends to accommodate customer requirements in different time zones.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Planning of all stages of projects in accordance with the system specification and ensuring all appropriate standards are met.
  • Assign and oversee the daily tasks of engineering and technical personnel while ensuring your team are actively working towards established milestones.
  • Hold regular engineering/technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.
  • Determine and define clear objectives, roles and responsibilities for team members required for specific projects or initiatives.
  • Support with continuous improvement of technical project methodologies to deliver high quality installation, commissioning, and system optimisation outcomes..

YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others.
  • Keen sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams.
  • Managerial experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Degree in Project Management or related technical field (computer science/mechanical or electrical engineering).
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising talent in engineering/technology department.
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.

Desirable:

  • Professional Project Management certification from accredited institution preferred.
EESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Willing to travel and spend short periods away from home both in UK and worldwide.
  • Willing to work occasional nights.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.

This role will require the successful candidate to undertake a pre-employment background screening check (either Basic DBS or BPSS).

Salary will be competitive based on this type of role within the Thames Valley.
