The position - procurement administrator (in South Oxfordshire)

Navtech Radar is looking for a talented and experienced Procurement Administrator to support the company through ongoing growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering of procurement to ensure that production’s needs are met, and stock levels are maintained in line with the stocking policy
  • Raising purchase orders and sending these to suppliers
  • Getting confirmation of orders from suppliers
  • Maintaining accurate delivery dates for orders and regularly following up with suppliers to ensure that delivery is on time in full
  • Sourcing of new suppliers and sending RFPs/RFQs to mitigate risk of orders being received late, poor quality parts arriving or to reduce cost of components
  • Measuring suppliers’ on time delivery and price performance

Your competencies:

  • Strong IT literacy and ability to work with Microsoft Excel and typical business ERP/MRP systems
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with both suppliers and colleagues effectively
  • Problem solving mindset
  • Customer centric mindset

Your knowledge and experience

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with the following experience:

  • Understanding of production environments and the critical role procurement plays in ensuring continuation of production
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials to enable understanding of appropriate price, lead time and risk associated with procurement of parts
  • 2+ years in a production procurement, or similar role, in a production environment
