Accounts Payable Clerk

The position - Accounts Payable Clerk (in South Oxfordshire)

Navtech Radar is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Accounts Payable Clerk to support the company through ongoing growth. You will provide key support within the finance team and to the wider business by delivering excellent service.
If you are currently studying towards your AAT qualification, or you have completed the qualification, this role is for you. We will support you with a training package to help you get qualified and grow and develop with us.
The role will be reporting to the Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities

As our Accounts Payable Clerk your role will be varied and fast paced, and you will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing the Purchase Ledger from end to end, ensuring every invoice is processed and payment made in a timely manner
  • Processing employee expenses and credit card expenses
  • Running Purchase Ledger reports
  • Reconciling supplier statements
  • Dealing with external and internal queries by phone and email
  • Assisting with month-end checking and reconciliations
  • Supporting the year-end audit process

Key skills

Key skills and attributes we are looking for:

  • You should be fully qualified or wanting to study AAT and keen to develop in your profession
  • Ideally at least 1 year’s work experience within an accounts payable/purchase ledger role
  • IT/PC proficient with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail

Your competencies

  • Keen, being eager to learn and committed to becoming a qualified AAT accountant, requiring considerable study outside of work
  • Self-starter, able to both take direction and initiative
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, creditors and employees
  • Able to work in a demanding environment with high expectations
  • A team player who will work with the other members of the team to achieve common objectives
  • Willing to learn and also to challenge methods in which processes are currently performed

Salary and Benefits

  • £22,000 - £27,000 Depending on experience
