Journey Time

Real-time journey time measurement is important for both road users needing to plan their route, and for traffic management who use the information to make informed decisions which improve traffic operations on their network. Out of date information on current traffic means traffic build up will worsen, causing delays and frustration.

ClearWay can record the average speed vehicles take to travel through each section of road. This is done constantly in real-time, meaning journey time data is up to date and accurate.

Flow monitoring

By monitoring the movement and speed of the traffic flow, ClearWay can accurately report on current journey times. This can help to improve traffic flow, as operators can decide to take action, such as amending the speed limit.

ClearWay is able to track and monitor multiple vehicles simultaneously, or on a lane by lane basis.

Using speed rules,  ClearWay is able to detect a queue forming within ten seconds. This information can be used for live journey time information, so road users can amend their route plan before travelling.
